Lockdown fuels house-plant cravings

House plants have been flying off the shelves this winter, with retailers saying sales of leafy plants, like ferns, have doubled during lockdown. Andy Burton of Double H Nurseries, which supplies house plants to supermarke­ts, reports moth orchids (Phalaenops­is) remain best sellers, while furniture outlet Ikea says easy-care cacti and succulents are its most popular. “Nurturing house plants is good for the soul,” says houseplant fanatic Jamie Song. “They give us hope.” See more at #jamies_jungle
