Pressure washers explained
Trigger handle
Water flows when the trigger is pressed and most will turn off when it’s released. A safety button will ensure it’s not accidentally turned on
Washer hose
Range from 3m to 7m long. More powerful washers tend to have thicker and wider hoses
Lance
The long plastic tube connecting the trigger and handle to the nozzle
Nozzle Cheaper models may have just one type of nozzle, others may include a selection such as fixed jet, variable fan-jet, rotary jet, and angled lances
Push-fit hose connection Requires a universal click-on water stop connector on your hose, but makes connecting the washer to a water source quick and easy
Carry handles Lifting, carrying and moving the pressure washer, particularly the heavy models, is easier with a handle
Body
Houses the motor and pump, on/off switch and the fittings for the washer hose and hose pipe
Storage
Handy for keeping spare nozzles, a foam sprayer and any other accessories in one place
Wheels
Essential on heavier models and if you have large areas to clean
