Keep containers well watered

-

Plants in pots dry out much faster than plants in the ground. The roots in pots can’t grow out further in search of water and only a fraction of rainwater will penetrate the compost as the canopy of foliage acts like an umbrella. Thoroughly soak the compost in pots come rain or shine to keep plants in the best condition.

Water in the morning or evening when the plant is least stressed and add a weekly liquid feed to the water at this time of year to boost the nutrient supply from the compost.
