Mow established lawns regularly
Mow your lawn regularly to keep the grass in top condition. Make sure the mower blades are set high at the beginning of the season and lower them once the grass is growing well.
Mow when it’s dry and never mow if a late frost is forecast, as newly cut grass can scorch. Vary the direction you mow in to avoid creating ruts. Leave some areas of grass long, particularly if there are spring bulbs but also to provide cover and habitats for wildlife and and an opportunity to grow wild flowers. Mow paths through wilder areas for easy access.
