How to repot

-

1

Check roots are coming out through holes in the pot before removing. If not, it doesn’t need repotting and should be left to grow for a while longer.

2

Fill a new pot to halfway with house-plant compost and add slow-release fertiliser. The pot should be 50 per cent bigger than the previous one.

3

Pull any loose roots and tease out to encourage them to grow outwards in the new pot. Shake off any old compost that comes away from the plant easily.

4

Place plant in the pot’s centre and fill with more compost. The soil line should be at the bottom of the pot lip. Firm well and water thoroughly.
