Planting up your hanging basket
1
Line a hanging basket with cloth then plastic, and add drainage holes. Fill with potting compost and mix in slow-release plant food.
2
Basil is easy to grow from seed. Sow some now or buy a pot or two at a garden centre or supermarket, then pop them in.
3
Position the tomato plants so they can trail over the edges. Once they start to flower, feed weekly with tomato fertiliser.
4
Fill any gaps with marigold plug plants, but don’t crowd them too tightly. Water in well, then water regularly to avoid drying out.
