Plant out peppers

-

Dig a hole and mix well-rotted manure into the bottom ready to plant out peppers after the danger of frost has passed. Peppers are tender and must be hardened off (see p. 144), so choose a sunny, sheltered site.

Push a 1m cane firmly into the hole to support the plant once it starts to bush out. Water the base of the hole before planting and tie the main stem loosely to the cane. Firm it in, water, then mulch with manure or garden compost.
