STEP BY STEP Growing lavender from plugs

-

OPEN the packaging to let some air get to your plugs as soon as you receive them. Make sure the roots of the plugs are moist before you begin to pot them up.

USE a dibber or pencil to push the plugs out of their packaging. Fill a module tray with potting compost and make a hole in each cell. Place a plug in each hole. Firm them in well.

POT plugs on again into individual pots when the roots have filled the module. This two-stage potting process stops compost stagnating in a larger pot, while the roots develop.

PLANT out the bushy young plants later this season into free-draining soil in full sun so that plants have a chance to grow and harden before the winter sets in.
