Fighting floods

-

Paved front gardens in urban areas contribute to flash flooding but there are ways your plot can help.

How can a front garden help with water runoff?

“When we bought the house years ago, the front garden was a concrete slab. I knew that there was water getting lodged there and it was causing damp issues. Once the concrete was removed the damp miraculously dried out. It is essential that we allow the gardens to have somewhere for the water to run off and planting helps to soak up any torrential downpours, too” Alison Salt
