The view from inside
A front garden should look beautiful from the inside too – and in this seaside plot in Orkney, Sue Palmer has created a garden with views from her living room just as beautiful as those from the road.
Why do you think having greener front gardens is important?
Greener front gardens encourage wildlife, insects and pollinators. If more people were able to plant up their front gardens then there would be more continuous wildlife habitat, which would be greatly beneficial to the environment.
What is your best advice for creating a good front garden?
I’d suggest you spend time looking at it from inside your house and plant it up in a way that means you will always be able to enjoy the best view of it, even when it isn’t weather to go outside. Grow a variety of plants that will flower and look their best at different times of the year, so that you have always got something of interest to enjoy. A front garden which lifts your spirits when you come home!
