Our tailor-made itinerary through the Cotswolds, famous for its rural charm, includes several gardens not normally open to the public plus informativ­e talks by owners and head gardeners. And you’ll be entertaine­d by Adam’s company, as he joins us for a special afternoon at Thenford, Michael and Anne Heseltine’s iconic private garden.

K THURSDAY 16 SEPT Check in to Blunsdon House, Cheltenham. Enjoy private dinner with wine.

K FRIDAY 17 SEPT Thenford Gardens An exclusive tour of the gardens of former deputy PM Michael Heseltine and his wife, Anne. Over 40 years they have restored the woodland, reclaimed the walled garden back to its former use, dredged the medieval fishponds and cleared the two acre lake. The gardens and arboretum, spread over 70 acres, features a collection of more than 3,000 trees and shrubs, with extensive herbaceous borders, water gardens, alpine trough garden, a sculpture garden, a rose garden and a rill. It is one of England’s most impressive private gardens and our day here is sure to be the highlight of this wonderful Cotswolds tour. Enjoy welcome refreshmen­ts, a guided tour with the Head Gardener, a 2-course lunch with wine, signed copy of the Thenford book and a talk and Q&A with Gardeners World’s Adam Frost.

K SATURDAY 18 SEPT Miserden Estate An Intro talk with owner, Nicholas Wills, is followed by a tour of the garden, winner of the HHA Garden of the Year 2018 award for its ongoing revival of this historic space. Free time for lunch (not included) before heading to Painswick Rococo Garden and a Head Gardener tour.

K SUNDAY 19 SEPT Rodmarton Manor Guided garden tour with a light lunch included, then on to Upton Wold for a tour of this private garden that has been literally carved out of the limestone.

K MONDAY 20 SEPT Bourton House Tour from the Head Gardener of this three-acre site of rich planting surroundin­g the 18th century manor house. Free time at Chipping Campden for lunch (not included). On to Sezincote for a tour with the Head Gardener at this magical garden and house with its strong Indian influence. We return to the hotel for lunch before saying our goodbyes and heading home.
