PLANT OUT RUNNER BEANS

-

Runner beans that you sowed in pots or trays last month should be planted out now. Push strong supports – such as hazel or bamboo canes, about 2.5m tall – into the ground, sloping inwards so that they can be tied together at the top. Plant one plant per cane, about 15cm apart, and tie each one loosely to its support. Water well and remember to pinch out the tops once they outgrow the canes.
