Enjoy your final rhubarb harvest

-

Make this month’s harvest the last time you pick your rhubarb, to give plants a chance to renew their energy over the summer. Pick the best eating stems from the base and trim the leaves off at the top.

Next, prepare the clump by clearing away any weak, yellowing leaves or older split stems from the crown. If there are any flowers, cut these out. Remove any weeds, then soak with water and mulch around the plant with a thick layer of rotted manure.
