Water new trees

Soak newly planted trees to help them establish after planting, particularly during a dry summer season.

Drench the ground once a week rather than little and often. Make sure the moisture runs to the tree by making a channel in the soil around it to stop any runoff. Conserve the moisture by giving the tree a thick layer of mulch around the base.

Give new trees a good watering in the early mornings or evenings
