Can you identify this plant growing in my garden?

Pat Dixon, Lancashire

ACHRISTINE SAYS This is the caper spurge, Euphorbia lathyrus, sometimes confused with capers, but both the plant and its fruit are very poisonous. The milky sap is also an irritant, so always use gloves when removing it. It’s a common weed in certain parts of the UK and though attractive in its own right, it is best removed.
