Robert Foxton, Carlisle

AMATTHEW SAYS I’d wait till late summer (i.e., late August), which will help encourage a wider range of diversity to establish in your long grass, including orchids. But for the actual fritillaries themselves, early July will suffice. Check their seed capsules have dried and emptied before cutting.
