COMPLEMENTARY CROWD
This is a Charlie’s Angels combination. That verbena (Sabrina) is far more sophisticated than the omnipresent V. bonariensis – and it has better foliage. Teamed with the flat plates of the achillea (Jill) and that really lively red hot poker (Kelly) they are unbeatable: just ask Bosley if you don’t believe me.
Kniphofia ‘Timothy
A short poker good for the front to middle of a border. If shaded it won’t flower as well. Divide clumps in spring. H xS 70cm x 50cm
Achillea ‘Terracotta’
Best in a light soil as it hates standing wet in winter. Quite short-lived, so divide regularly in spring.
HxS 110cm x 40cm
Verbena officinalis grandiflora ‘Bampton’
Divide in spring or take softwood cuttings. Generally easy to grow and hardy in most gardens. H xS 100cm x 75cm
