Gardening can help us reach green goals
The Government is urging gardeners to get growing to help boost biodiversity and tackle climate change, ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow this November. “I’d like to see as many GW readers as possible doing their bit,” says Environment Minister Rebecca Pow.
The Plant for Our Planet campaign wants us to plant pollinator plants and let grass grow long to let wildflowers thrive, then share results on social media on #plantforourplanet. “Never has the need to restore nature been more urgent,” says Joan Edwards of the Wildlife Trusts, one of several groups backing the campaign.
