Grenfell could be a ‘living memorial’
The ruins of Grenfell Tower in London, destroyed by fire in 2017, could become a vertical garden in tribute to those who died if campaigners are successful. Structural engineers have raised concerns over the tower’s safety. But survivors Marcio and Andreia Gomes, who lost their unborn son, want to cover it with 72 species of plants, one for each person killed. The Ministry of Housing is still considering options.
