How to take softwood cuttings
1
CHOOSE the thickest young non-flowering shoots and cut them just above an emerging set of buds to allow the plant to grow more shoots.
2
CUT off the lower leaves by pinching out the soft leaf stalks with your fingernails or a sharp pair of scissors. Leave one set of leaves at the top.
3
TRIM the base of the cutting to 2-3mm below a leaf joint, making sure there is at least one more joint between that and the tip.
4
USE a dibber to make a hole and insert the cuttings around the edge of a pot filled with multi-purpose compost mixed with perlite.
