Can I deter red clover in my òííerflĄ ßaí °Ϡ
Ant Biggs, Bristol
AHUMAIRA SAYS Native red clover (Trifolium pratense) is great for pollinators, but can be quite vigorous. To keep it in check, grow it with other competitive wildflowers. Try pollinator-friendly natives such as bird’s-foot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus), ox-eye daisies (Leucanthemum vulgare), meadow cranesbill (Geranium pratense), cowslips (Primula veris) and wild carrot (Daucus carota). If you already have your planting underway, you can add these as plug plants, or start the lot afresh from seed.
