Make your own liquid feed from either comfrey or nettles – the method is the same. Here, I’ve made comfrey feed from leaves cut from under hedges around the garden.

1 Gather then chop up the leaves you have harvested into small pieces.

2 Pack the chopped leaves into a bucket and top it up with water.

3 Leave it for three weeks – it’ll turn smelly and rotten.

4 Drain, then dilute at 30 parts water to 1 part feed. Store in a water-tight bottle.
