Harvest now

-

As the sunshine mellows, I peel away at the corn husks to reveal their summery yellow kernels – these will be used in a delicious salsa salad. Chillies from the greenhouse have been picked and are hanging to dry indoors. I’ve been amazed at how well my aubergines have done this year, both in the greenhouse and outdoors, and on a dry day I’ll dig my maincrop potatoes (their tops were cut away last month). I will get a final crop of courgettes – one veg I’ll be glad to see the back of… until I start craving them in three months!
