Harvest late raspberries now

-

Pick your sweet-tasting, late-fruiting raspberries daily. They will have started fruiting in August and will carry on through into early autumn.

The later it gets and the colder it is at night, the more likely it is that the fruit will rot on the plant, so be sure to pick the berries as soon as they are ripe. Keep as much air flowing around the fruit as possible by clearing nearby weeds and trimming back a few spent canes.

Support heavily laden canes off the ground, too. Handle the fruit carefully by picking into a shallow tray lined with absorbent kitchen paper.
