Is ‘rewilding’ just overgrown?
We hear so much about the importance of making wildlife habitats and meadows. And while we have an insect-friendly space in our garden, carefully nurtured to attract wildlife all year, I can’t help but notice that some public paths and hedgerows have become overgrown and gardens look neglected. Is this just an excuse to stop gardening, save money and call it ‘rewilding’?
Surely we all have a responsibility to care for our gardens and pathways. Yes, our wildlife needs us, but please don’t use it as an excuse for boosting biodiversity. Plant some butterflyand bee-friendly plants for us all to enjoy!
