Shrubs in windy spots

Buddleias, lavateras, hybrid tea and floribunda roses can be damaged by strong winter winds, causing root damage and dieback. Remove the top third of the plant to reduce the sail effect of the stems. Remove buddleia seedheads to stop them being scattered across your garden.
