Climbing roses

Pruning climbing roses in early winter is perfect for training these hardy beauties as you will then be able to see their stems and unforgiving thorns clearly.

Reduce side shoots to a couple of buds and tie in strong, fresh growth. Removing one or two older stems will also rejuvenate the climber over time.
