Liven up winter pots with bulbs

For flowers in early spring, add crocus bulbs to winter pots already planted with evergreens, such as grasses, polyanthus or small shrubs. Hold back the foliage and loosen the compost between the plants.

Use your finger to make planting holes 5-10cm deep, drop in the bulbs with the pointed tip facing upwards and cover with compost. Arrange bulbs in small groups for a natural look.
