Stake your trees

Check young trees in case they need more support this winter. Position a stake so that the tree will be blown away from it to avoid it damaging the bark and secure using a soft tie.

Make sure the buckle is secured against the stake and not the tree. Keep the stake low to allow branches some movement while the stem and roots are held still.

Check ties often to ensure they are not tightened around stems
