Preparing your tree

When you get your tree home, place it on the floor or a flat surface and cut the netting from the trunk (don’t remove the net from the rest of the tree just yet).

Use one hand to keep the tree steady and saw a few centimetres off the base of the trunk. Try to keep the cut as straight as possible to make it easier to place in the stand.

Place the tree into a bucket of water until you are ready to take it inside. I usually leave it for a couple of hours to give it a chance to take up as much water as possible.
