Add pots of colour
Bring instant winter colour to your patio or doorstep by planting up a large container with a bright-stemmed dogwood (Cornus) and vibrant red bedding cyclamen. Choose a small cornus with red, yellow or orange stems for the centrepiece and several cyclamen with lots of new buds.
Water all the plants, then part-fill the large container with loam-based compost. Remove the plants from their pots and place the shrub in the centre of your display, with cyclamen round the edge. Fill the gaps with more compost, firm in and water well.
