Harvest broccoli

-

Be sure to harvest the central head of broccoli while it’s still tightly in bud. Use a sharp knife or secateurs. This will stimulate the development of sideshoots, which will form more heads to harvest for another month or more. Also remove any damaged leaves to improve air circulation around the plants and help heal the large cuts made on the stem.

Eat broccoli fresh or store in the salad drawer of the fridge for a couple of days. Freezing is a good option for storage if you’re harvesting more than you can eat.
