Self-confessed ‘pirate’ gardeners, Oliver and Marcus are truly making the most of their tiny urban balcony. By packing in edible and ornamental plants, their unconventional approach to gardening shows what can be achieved in whatever space you have.

Our balcony is tiny compared to most gardens, but we are hugely grateful for it. This summer we were inspired by the madness of Great Dixter, so want to play more with scale and texture – it may be tricky in 5m x 1.3m, but we’ll give it a go!
