Get started

Now is the perfect time to start planning and even planting your spuds for bumper harvests to enjoy this year

-

January & February Get your potato season under way now by ordering seed potatoes. Remove from packaging on arrival and stand in trays or eggboxes to ‘chit’ (sprout). Also plant first earlies (without chitting) in sacks indoors.

Mid-March Plant first earlies outside in more southerly areas under cloches to protect new growth from frost. Further north, wait until April.

Early April You’re now safe to plant first earlies outside, plus second earlies for harvesting through summer.

Mid-April Plant maincrops now so they have all summer to grow before harvesting in autumn.
