Why is our potgrown Wollerton Old Hall rose so spindly?

A CHRISTINE SAYS I think the habit may be due to poor growing conditions. The rose would be better in the soil rather than a container. If it needs to stay in a pot, ensure the pot is large enough – at least 60cm – and use a good-quality, soil-based compost. Water and feed frequently in summer.
