How to plant a tree
Dig a circular hole that measures twice the width of the tree’s roots and the same depth as its roots.
Lower in the tree. With a length of wood across the hole, check the tree is at the same depth as it was in its pot.
Hammer a stake securely into the soil close to the tree, in the direction of the prevailing wind. Fill in the hole and firm.
Add a 5cm layer of compost on the soil surface after watering the tree, and tie the tree to the stake with a tree tie.
