Do’s and don’ts

✔ DO re-pot the plugs each time the roots fill their space. Regularly tease a plug out of its cell to check.

✔ DO pot up plugs into individual pots if the root systems are too big to fit in a cell.

✔ DO pick off any yellowing leaves – this may be a sign of over-watering.

✔ DO gradually acclimatise the plants to outside conditions during the day at the end of spring before planting out in early summer.

X DON’T handle the plugs by the leaves – they are very fragile and easily damaged.

X DON’T force the plugs into pots that are too small because they will dry out too quickly.
