How to sow seeds in trays

1 Fill a tray with peatfree seed sowing compost then firm it down gently so the compost level is 3cm below the rim of the tray.

2 Sprinkle the seeds over the compost surface, distributing them as evenly as possible.

3 Cover the seed with a thin layer of vermiculite, spread evenly over the compost surface. Water the vermiculite using a watering can with a very fine sprinkler attachment on the end.
