Do’s and don’ts

-

✔ DO bury some of the stem when you transplant the seedlings, to prevent them from becoming ‘leggy’.

✔ DO turn the cell trays around on a daily basis to keep the seedlings growing upright rather than stretching towards the light.

X DON’T squash the seedlings into their cell.

Instead, make the hole deeper or transplant into deeper individual pots if necessary.

X DON’T feel as though you have to transplant all the seedlings in a tray at once. If some aren’t as tall as others, refirm the compost, water gently and wait for them to develop further before transplanting another batch.
