How to protect from cold

-

Young plants that have only known indoor temperatures and plants that are not hardy (will be killed by frost) need help to be protected from cold. Bedding plants and veg crops can be wiped out by frost, but some simple steps will keep them safe and allow them to thrive once the risk of frost has passed. Mastering the art of protecting plants takes time and experience, but there is no substitute for keeping an eye on the weather forecast, then taking evasive action!

You will need

◼ Fleece

◼ Trays (for carrying plants)

◼ Cold frame

◼ Pegs (to attach fleece to woody stems) ◼ Weights (to hold fleece layers in place)
