In summer, your glasshouses and polytunnels will be crammed with cucumbers, melons, peppers and tomatoes, but they can still be used during the rest of the year. Plug plants of hardy leaves such as cos lettuce, land cress, chicory, radicchio and annual spinach will tick over during winter if planted in old tomato beds by mid-October.
