Brighten up containers with bellis

-

Perk up your patio or doorstep by planting cheery bellis daisies in pots, troughs and windowboxes. Widely available in garden centres now, this pretty relative of the lawn daisy, with its white, pink or red flowers, is very robust and will keep on blooming until the summer bedding takes over.

Bellis daisies need lots of water, so for the best results plant them in a good quality, water-retentive potting compost. A 50:50 mix of loam-based and peat-free compost is perfect and will help to prevent them wilting during warm, dry spells in spring.
