Don’t forget

Cut back epimedium foliage, which provides winter interest, to encourage fresh growth

Keep pond work to a minimum to encourage amphibians to return and spawn on warm days

Prick out seedlings, replanting them deeper so the seed leaves are at the surface, with little or no stem showing

Check house plants regularly – start to water and feed again once you see signs of new growth
