A CHRISTINE SAYS A general granular fertiliser will be ideal for rhubarb. In order for this to dissolve and disperse, ensure the soil doesn’t dry out once the rhubarb crowns have started into growth in the spring.

Apply the feed in March at the rate recommended by the manufacturer. Alternatively, use an organic fertiliser such as blood, fish and bonemeal.
