ORANGE CRUSH

-

One of my most favourite tulips – I plant them in almost every garden I design (along with dark and desirable ‘Queen of Night’) such is my deep and abiding love. You might expect anything called ballerina to be quite frothy and tutu-like, but this is a ballerina with attitude. Feisty, spirited, strong and unabashed: that orange is just the thing to kick start the spring and shake off the winter.

Tulipa ‘Ballerina’

Plant bulbs in autumn – not too early, November is best. Excellent in swathes through borders or packed into large containers.
