Talk of the town

-

The land in front of our house does not belong to us but to the local council which gave us permission, 15 years ago, to plant on it. We planted 500 bulbs in the first year and have added 100 more each year since, filling in gaps and aiming to have flowers in bloom for several months.

Passers-by enjoy the display and often stop for a chat. One family have taught their children the names of flowers when walking by and the children’s question is always, “What is coming up next”?

I would encourage anyone who can to do the same. You’ll be amazed how much pleasure the flowers give people and the new friends you will make while doing it.
