Plant a colourthemed pot

Design some spring pots for your patio. Choose a colour theme with flowers an foliage for maximum impact. The purple heuchera foliage a depth an enhances the mauve flowers of the perennial wallflower. ]oak the plants before potting.

1 ADD perlite to potting compost to lighten the mix. Add compost to your pot, leaving space for the biggest rootball.

2 CHOOSE a plant for the centre that will give the display a focal point with flowers or foliage that last all spring.

3 FILL the gaps with more plants, adding more compost and firming down to just below the rim to make watering easy.
