Plant sweet peas

-

Plant sweet peas out now into large pots or borders to supply you with sweet-scented flowers this summer.

Prepare the supports before planting. A combination of canes and pea netting works well to support their scrambling habit. Sweet peas are hungry feeders so plant into good quality potting compost or soil prepared with rotted manure. Plant seedlings about 20cm apart to give them plenty of space for the roots to develop. Water them in and protect from slugs and snails.
