Thin daylilies
Check the new growth on your daylilies and pinch out the very weakest shoots because they won’t be strong enough to support a flowering stem this year. Pinch them out with your fingers or use a pair of secateurs.
Removing these shoots thins out the plant and gives both space and energy for the stronger shoots to mature and produce a prolific display of flowers. Relocate any snails you come across while doing this, too.
