Water direct sown hardy annuals
Fill a watering can and use a fine rose to keep the top surface of the soil moist while direct sown hardy annuals are germinating. Spray the water lightly so that it doesn’t puddle on top of the soil and lift the seeds.
Go over it several times to be sure that it has penetrated the ground, allowing it to soak in gently each time. It’s best to do this in the morning because evening watering risks encouraging nocturnal slug activity.
